Mining Business License in Lawele, Buton Island

PT WIKA’s mining operation areas are located in the Lawele area on Buton Island, Southeast Sulawesi. In accordance with government regulations, PT WIKA Bitumen holds an Asphalt Mining Business License (IUP) to manage areas of more than 100 hectares.

Types of Product

AHR WIKA ASBUTON HARD ROCK

DEFINITION

It is a high quality hard type Buton asphalt product originating from IUP Kabungka. This product has been sold in the export market (China and Taiwan) and the domestic market

ADVANTAGES

1.  Has a higher Asphalten content than Oil Asphalt
2.  Natural Asphalt is equivalent to Gilsonite which is tougher than Oil Asphalt
3.  Mineral CaCO3 and natural Asphalt can increase Hotmix’s  stiffness compared to Hotmix with oil asphalt.

FUNCTION & USES

As raw material for making additives to improve the quality of hot mix in heavy traffic (toll roads and national roads)

ASR WIKA ASBUTON SOFT ROCK

DEFINITION

It is a high quality soft type Buton asphalt product originating from IUP Lawele, and is one of WIKA Bitumen’s flagship products.

ADVANTAGES

1.  Contains Resin and Malten which function as AntiStriping compared to Oil Asphalt
2.  Composition of Natural Asphalt equivalent to Asphalt   from Trinidad Lake Asphalt (TLA - Tobago USA)
3.  Equivalent to Asphalt Polymer Modified Asphalt (PMB PG 70)

FUNCTION & USES

As a raw material for substituting asphalt pen oil 60/70 for medium traffic such as provincial and regency roads.
