Working Visit to WIKA Bitumen by the Governor of Southeast Sulawesi and the Delegation Team of the Several Ministries

Buton Island, February 1st 2021 - Following up on the coordination meetings of Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs on January 19th 2021, another working visit was held related to Asphalt Buton by the Governor of Southeast Sulawesi, Ali Mazi, the Regent of Buton, La Bakry, and a delegation from the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Coordinating Ministry Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs to Lawele mining area owned by WIKA Bitumen on February 1st, 2021.

Welcomed by WIKA Bitumen's Director of Operation, Sri Mulyono, at IUP Lawele, this working visit discussed the readiness of Buton Asphalt stockpiles and its validation by the Geological Agency, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.This is certainly in line with the plan of the Ministry of Public Work and Housing for the increasing demand for Asphalt Buton for road projects faced in 2021. Therefore, basic infrastructure and asphalt support from Buton Island are needed in an effort to increase Buton Asphalt production capacity.

The Governor of Southeast Sulawesi, Ali Mazi, also monitors the readiness and progress of the Full Extraction Buton Asphalt development which is currently being developed by WIKA Bitumen. This is the main focus to ensure the readiness of WIKA Bitumen for the Buton Asphalt processing industry so that it can meet national asphalt needs. In the afternoon, the visit was continued to Banabungi port to see the readiness of WIKA Bitumen's port infrastructure.

This year, WIKA Bitumen is ready to produce superior Buton Asphalt products for the advancement of road infrastructure and to become a major player in the Buton Asphalt mining and processing industry in Indonesia.
