WIKA Bitumen Signs A Memorandum of Understanding to Provide Scholarships with Muhammadiyah Buton University

Bau-Bau, October 11th 2020 – After undergoing an understanding of educational cooperation with Muhammadiyah Buton University in the last few months, PT WIKA Bitumen signed a Memorandum of Understanding regarding cooperation in providing scholarships for exemplary students at the said University located in Bau-Bau City, Buton Island, on Saturday, October 10, 2020.

The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding was represented by the Director of Operations of WIKA Bitumen, Sri Mulyono, and the Rector of the University of Muhammadiyah Buton, Dr. Wa Ode Alzarliani, S.P., M.M, in a university hall that has been around for 20 years on Buton Island. The awaited program was witnessed by several representatives from WIKA Bitumen and Muhammadiyah Buton University.

As one of the largest universities on the island that produces natural asphalt in Indonesia, Muhammadiyah Buton University intends to develop and produce superior human resources through its graduates, so that in the process the University hopes to collaborate with WIKA Bitumen.

In the collaboration that will be carried out for the next five years, WIKA Bitumen will not only provide scholarships for exemplary students but will also provide guest lectures to Muhammadiyah Buton University with representatives from the company. In addition, field practice and research for development, as well as internships for students at the University of Muhammadiyah Buton are also wide open.

This scholarship program is included in WIKA Bitumen's Community Empowerment Development (PPM) in the field of education. It is hoped that the continuation of this program will have benefits for both parties in the future. In this case, Sri Mulyono said, "WIKA Bitumen is optimistic that this program can help produce superior resources for the advancement of Buton Island which is in line with the mission and progress of WIKA Bitumen."
