Kendari, Sulawesi Tenggara – The big wave of flood that stormed North Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi on early June slowly began to recede. However, the residents remain still in refugee camps. Even the emergency response period was extended to June 30th 2019 by the North Konawe Regent, Rukasamin. Therefore, PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk. and PT Wijaya Karya Bitumen collaborated to distribute basic materials for affected people’s needs.

On June 18th 2019, Corporate Secretary of PT WIKA Bitumen, Dadang Komarudin, visited the Hall of Manunngal Building in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi to hand out the basic necessities, medicines, blankets, school equipment for children, and generators with a total value of Rp 70,000,000. All the symbolic supports were given to the Commander of Military Command 143 Haluelo, Colonel Inf. Yustinus Nono Yulianto.

PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk. and PT WIKA Bitumen hope that this support can help the refugees in the camp until the flood recedes and the people of North Konawe can go back to their homes. This activity is considered as corporate social responsibility (CSR) and an embodiment of the company’s concern for people who need help in the country.
