PT Wijaya Karya Shares Happiness in Buton Island

Buton Island, Southeast Sulawesi –  In commemoration of the anniversaty of PT Wijaya Karya, the company held a WIKA Berbagi event. Right after conducting another activity on February 20, 2019 in Sapanang village, Binamu district, Janeponto regency, South Sulawersi province, the annual WIKA Berbagi event continued in Mantowu and Nambo village, Buton regency, Southeast Sulawesi province.

                 

 

On bright Friday, February 22nd 2019, exactly at 09.10 WITA, the event started and carried out the distribution of free groceries. Attended by the Nambo’s village head, Lasalimu’s sub-district head, and also Lasalimu police chief, PT WIKA distributed 100 free groceries packages around the village.

                 

 

The good deed of groceries distribution aims to help the needs who are economically low, to lessen their burden, and to help PT Wijaya Karya grows better – not only in big cities, but also in remote area of Indonesia. All the intention is to make people aware about the company which helps the country to grow together.

                 

 

People all around, including the head village of Nambo, enthusiastically welcomed the event although the sun was scorching hot. In his speech, he thanked PT Wijaya Karya which give attention about the welfare of the village community. In the future, he wished that this event would be held on an annual basis, because it made the good relationship between PT WIKA and the society got stronger.

                                                          

 

Meanwhile in Mantowu village, the same corporate social rensposibility event was doing a free medical treatment, tree planting, free books, and clean water facilities for Mantowu villagers. The event itself was attended by La Bakry, Regent of Buton Island, and Sila Agung W., PT WIKA Bitumen’s Director of Operation. As the number one man in Buton Island, La Bakry appreciated the action, especially the provision of clean water facilities through the village. Not many knows that Mantowu is one of the villages which lack of clean water during dry season. He then appealed for this kind of activity to be carried out every year.

                 

 

Beside La Bakry, Director of Operation from PT WIKA Bitumen, Sila Agung was hoping that the water facilities provided could be a good beneit for many people there. Makmun, as a chairman of the Sulawesi Island Wika CSR Committee, was grateful that PT Wijaya Karya on its 59th anniversary could help the residents of Mantowu village to get clean water in such an easier way and to get free medical treatment that could help residents to be healthy and more productive.
